My Evening with The Beekman Boys

As many of you know one of my “happy places” is Terrain, the wonderful garden center (this phrase does not even do it justice) in Glen Mill, PA. Imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that The Beekman Boys were coming to Terrain to pitch their new cookbook, Beekman 1802: A Seat at the Table:Recipes to Nourish Your Family, Friends, and Community. Along with the book signing we were also treated to dinner with Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge a.k.a. The Beekman Boys featuring some of the delicious foods from the cookbook.

Our eveining began with hors d’oeuvres of Ricotta-Filled Figs wrapped in Prosciutto and skewers of Mozzarella, tomatoes, and cucumbers with basil and parsley pesto. These were washed down with a signature cocktail of  hot apple cider with Bulleit Bourbon.  We were then invited into the barn where our dinner began with Flower Pot Bread and Orange Fennel Salad. This was followed by Beef Braciole with Mushroom Rissotto ending with a delicious Boozy Bundt Cake. Throughout the evening both Josh and Brendt (we had dinner so we’re now on a first name bases) made their way from table to table while sharing fun stories, taking pictures, and signing books. Perfect Evening!!
