Elin Hilderbrand,  The queen of the beach reads is at it again with her newest novel, The Identicals. As  with all of  Hilberbrand’s books, The Identicals  is set in Nantucket but also branches out to nearby Martha’s Vineyard. The story is about twins, Harper and Tabitha who are separated as teenagers when their parents decide to divorce. Tabitha resides in Nantucket with her daughter and  difficult, socialite mother while Harper lives on  Martha’s Vineyard with their fun yet ner’ er do well father. The twins are reunited when their father dies and they switch islands to escape their dysfunctional lives. Once you get past the unrealistic premise of a parent giving up one of  their children to a game of rock/paper/scissors it is a pleasant read although predictable. Nothing too weighty or complicated just the perfect book to read while you people watch on the beach. Buy this book.
